Practice Areas
Formerly a state and federal government attorney, cybersecurity software engineer, and investigator, William J. Black, III (Billy), focuses on three primary areas:
Investigations of any kind
Doing business with any branch of government
Criminal, civil, or administrative actions before state, federal, military trial and appellate courts, committees, boards, or agencies
Investigations
Formerly a military, corporate, and federal investigator and cybersecurity software engineer, Billy conducts internal investigations for and provides legal advise and technical expertise to companies, boards of directors, board committees, associations, non-profits, government entities, and other organizations to address emerging technologies, financial regulations, potential misconduct, cybersecurity operations, incident response, or security engineering.
Government
Having navigated multiple state and federal administrations as a government counsel, Billy helps clients maneuver doing business with the government and the legislative process – from compliance consulting, commercial contracting, conflict resolution, and political support to passage and implementation by enhancing your brand inside the Gold Dome and Capitol Hill to be shaping public policy decisions.
Litigation
Combining his background in government investigations, litigation, and public policy, Billy defends companies and individuals against criminal charges brought by federal or state grand juries, military commanders, enforcement actions filed by government agencies or industry regulators, and any civil or administrative action or appeal filed in state, federal, or military courts, and any committees, boards, or administrative agencies.
